i would like to buy material from aliexpress .
can i know what would be the customs duty on it , who pays the duty and what about clearing charges for the same .
is GST in india applicable on the imported product .
do i need to have iec code for getting material through aliexpress .

Customs duty is paid by Aliexpress and charged to your account. The question is the delivery time which is from 30 to 40 - 50 days. So your order can just disappear in the clouds with no Customer Service in Aliexpress. You will be stranded at crossroads losing your money and time.
