- By Train: New Jalpaiguri Junction (NJP) is the closest major railhead, linked to cities across India. Hire a taxi or take a shared jeep/bus from NJP, the park is 104 km away
- By Road: From Siliguri, Direct buses to Kalimpong (100 km from Siliguri, Kalimpong is 32 km from Lava entry point)
- Alternate route: Siliguri to Chalsa (65 km) then to Samsing (18 km more).
- Nearest town: Kalimpong (32 km away-ideal base for taxis or short drives to the entry.
