I have taken a loan from L&T Housing Finance Limited for a purchase of Property in mumbai. L&T Housing finance sanctioned me 83 Lakhs loan out of which 70 Lakhs disbursed. They(L&T Housing Finance) taken a insurance on loan for us from Kotak Life Insurance. L&T Housing finance didn’t conveyed the terms and conditions of the policy. We never met any Kotak employee before taking policy. We received the policy from Kotak on 6th of July. We read the terms and condition of the property which we are not agreed with.

Even before receiving the policy document we had approached L&T to cancel the insurance because its seems the policy is not going with our financial budget and give us some policy which is affordable. L&T RM made us promise that she will cancel the policy in free lookup period once the policy document arrive and we will get the full refund after deducting the some charges.

We approached and had a meeting couple of time with L&T Housing Finance regarding cancellation of this policy but they always postpone my case to cancel in future but not today but I want policy to get cancel in the period of free lookup as I wanted full refund. I have also registered the complaint with L&T Housing finance.

My mother is cancer patient and 51 years old . Still Kotak and L&T issued policy on my mother. She can’t walk and sit for longer time. She went to the L&T Housing Finance for the request to cancel the policy. They made her sit for around 1 hour to get talked saying the manager is not here and there and made her wait. After meeting they promised to cancel the policy but next day they again they said policy can’t be cancelled. And to wait fro 1-2 month to get it process if she still wants to cancel.

With no strong response from L&T housing Finance my mother(a cancer patient and a 50 year old) went to Kotak Life insurance branch in Chembur, Mumbai on July 11 2019. We met Mr.Iyer and he promised to get it solved and he gave number and email id of Mr. Arbaaz Shaikh. We mailed Mr. Arbaaz Shaikh and L&T Housing Finance RM Nuzhat Ansari. I did not received any response from them. Again my mom had to call them and they didn’t responded the call. We called Mr. Arbaaz again next day he replied its in L&T Housing finance hand to cancel the policy. We mentioned there is nowhere in the policy return we have to take permission from L&T to cancel the policy. As policy said we have submitted the request to cancel the policy.

My Mother and my family Members are getting harassed from L&T for more than a months . My mom being a cancer patient have to visit everyones office now and then. All we want to cancel the policy in free look up period which is our rights as per IRDA. We also asked L&T Housing finance to take the policy which is affordable to us. We can’t pay the interest every month on the insurance of around 22 Lakh on my family. The interest separately coming around 19000 rupees per month on insurance on top of loan EMI of around fifty thousand. We already have huge treatment process for my mother and above that Housing loan and again above that Insurance interest L&T is putting on us. That interest is not refundable and Policy Premium is also get deduct when we close the policy which was not told to us before taking policy.

L&T RM and Manager don’t response to our call and and when do they talk rudely. They shout on my mother when she ask to cancel policy and give tiff reply and make her false promises. This is going on over a month. We mailed couple of time to L&T but they don’t reply back. They replied once on mailed with very unprofessional way.

We request you to cancel the policy as soon as possible and give relief to my family from such a burden. We will be very thankful to Kotak.

P.S. We are not able to get any strong response from anyone. We hope from Kotak to solve this as early as possible.

Without Consent Insurance Applied

This is reference to the Loan Account No. GA000267, which I have taken home loan from L&Tbank for the Property I have chosen at Super Tech at Noida Extension.

But Sadly sad that without my consent a Huge Amount of Insurance has been put on it.

I am really not to going to pay that Insurance Amount as EMIs also has to pay with my limited budget (pre-decided)

you are being requested to please cancel my Insurance amount immediately and get the revised in your system with immeidate effect..

without consent , I already confirmed over the phone to person as well as Kotak team / L & T Team that I don't want the insurance for this loan / property.
