Heavy toll at UER-2 for 20km
UER-2 was inaugurated with much fanfare. But today I used it for the first time and had a big jolt.
I was in Shyam Vihar, Najafgarh area and picked this road to my next destination, Rohini. I would have been on this road for about 20 kms, and then I got SMS of toll deduction of Rs. 235/-
While there was initial toll point, there was no toll point at Exit and it seems a full amount has been charged.
1. If this is a gross error, there should be refund of excess based on usage distance (about 20km). And monitoring points of Exit should be put to calculate the charges if this has to succeed.
2. If what has happened is said to be correct, then it is responsibility of NHAI to publish this information, that UER-2 has fixed toll even for a short distance. Users may be exiting after 5-7 kms and paying through their nose. This should be public information beforehand, and not when someone reaches the toll.
3. Just cautioning that if this high toll continues for local travel of few kms, no body in Delhi-Gurgaon area would use it and the claim of unburdening Delhi traffic will fall flat. IT IS JUST THAT ONLY FEW HAVE GOT HIT WITH THIS TOLL. We will soon know it by Mon, 1st Sep. PLEASE GET INTO CORRECTION MODE.
